Liberty University FCA

It is our privilege to partner with Liberty University Athletics to provide support and encouragement to coaches and athletes alike. We believe that athletics provide a multitude of opportunities to optimize the physical aspects of training, explore the mental and motivational components of play, and fully engage in the process of spiritual development.

FCA is primarily engaged with the ten Division 1 women's teams, providing support and service to both coaches and athletes. This ministry takes on many faces, including using activity to teach principle, team retreats and team-building, small groups bible studies, individual mentoring, Lady Flames Huddles, leadership groups, pre-game chapels, and coaches' huddles.

Keep up with the D1 teams being served at Liberty University.

Strategy and methods

We pursue our vision and mission through the strategy of to and through the coach. We seek ministry first to coaches hearts, marriages and families.   Then, when ready, we minister through coaches to their fellow coaches, teams and athlete leaders.

Billy Graham said, “A coach will impact more people in one year than the average person will in an entire lifetime.” With the influence of a coach, FCA recognizes the most strategic way to reach more athletes is to first reach the coach.

Engage  (1 Thessalonians 2:8) We engage relationally by connecting with individuals and through events in many different environments by building genuine trust, sharing our lives and sharing the gospel. We strive to connect with coaches and athletes where they are on their spiritual journey.

Equip (Ephesians 4:12) After cultivating relationships and once coaches and athletes come to faith in Christ, we want to equip them with Christ-centered training, events, resources and on-going support in what it means to be a follower of Christ, growing in God’s Word and applying it to life.

Empower (2 Timothy 2:2) Once equipped, we empower faithful leaders who desire to use their time, talents and treasures to help other coaches and athletes experience the gospel, grow in their faith and share Him with others. We desire to develop disciples who make disciples, assisting them so that they can in turn engage, equip and empower others to know and grow in Christ and lead others to do the same.

FCA's Rich History

From the most humble beginnings in 1954, The Fellowship of Christian Athletes has grown into the largest sports ministry in the world. Read about how God has orchestrated this growth since that inaugural meeting!

Rebekah Trittipoe, FCA Women's Chaplain

I am absolutely delighted to be working full-time on the campus of Liberty University where I serve as the chaplain to the D1 women’s teams and coaches. Pursuing God together and impacting the world for Jesus Christ is the ultimate goal.

Athletics is a tremendous platform for presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ and applying biblical principles in and out of the competitive arena. Your prayers and financial support (which is tax deductible) provide the foundation to serve and the resources needed to be effective. Thank you in advance for allowing me the privilege of full-time FCA ministry.
